We’re celebrating our 25th Anniversary at Mainstreet Architects and Planners, Inc. For twenty-five years we have participated in the building of community and business throughout Ventura County, on projects both big and small. We have made our impact on the communities in which we live and work, both as professionals and as committed members of those communities. We have worked to raise awareness about quality design and good community building, and have participated directly in some of the most visible and important Community Projects to have happened in this County in these past two decades. Such projects include: The Downtown Ventura Specific Plan, the Downtown Fillmore Specific Plan, Downtown Oxnard’s Heritage Square, Fillmore’s new City Hall, the Westside Urban Design Plan, the Master Plan and Holy Cross School at the Mission San Buenaventura, Downtown Santa Paula’s Railroad Park, Ventura Boulevard Guidelines in Old Town Camarillo, Restoration of Casa de Anza Building with new Westside Library, Restoration of the Historic Peirano Building, The Downtown Plan and new Town Square for Piru, numerous facilities for the Oxnard Public Works Department, The Ventura County Fair Grounds Master Plan, and many more. We have also produced numerous private sector projects for businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals. In all of this work we have focused, not on specializing but on solving unique challenges for unique project needs. As such, we have worked on a diverse spectrum of project types, always with the aim of leaving a positive mark on the communities in which we work, and building a legacy we are proud of, through our professional endeavors and through our community activism. We’re still a work in progress, and as a firm we have continued to evolve and grow. Yet, we have stayed true to our basic precepts – to work on projects that we believe in, to bring the goals of developer and community closer together, and to lessen the negative impacts of the built environment on the planet. In celebration of our 25th Anniversary Mainstreet has initiated its own blog for general public consumption. Short, written pieces, artwork, videos, etc., produced by staff members, will be uploaded as they become available. It is intended to be a forum for architectural and urban design thought, and your input on these topics is most welcome. Welcome to our Crossroads…Visit http://mainstreet-crossroads.blogspot.com/ |
